Bavaria still comfortably holds the lead in Germany as the nation’s biggest boat-builder. It’s easy to see why they’re so popular: refined production techniques create economies of scale that translate into excellent value for money. In other words, you get a lot of boat for the money. And when the example in question has been maintained and cared for as well as this one, the value keeps on moving on down the line. This is very tidy example of the 37’ model. It’s big for its size. The long linear galley encourages ambitious culinary exploits, with lots of work space available. The saloon has a traditional feel, with acres of dark wood below decks. The plentiful hatches and port-lights ensure that it never feels oppressive, however. There are lockers everywhere, and each one has a proper locking button – no flimsy bird-catches hiding behind finger-breaking holes here. There’s a good-sized cockpit, too. Other impressive features include the generous engine access and the good-sized dedicated nav station. This is an extremely nice boat. She has clearly been carefully treated and her looks, inside and out, belie her age.
