Commentaires du Broker
Not much is known about this Schooner prior to her 1997 impounding by the Drug Enforcement Agency in the USA, But judging from her design and heavy construction she is almost certainly pre oil crisis 1970's. She spent the next two years (1998-2000) as a floating casino and was purchased by her current owners in 2001 and refitted for ocean sailing in 2005. Her current owners have sailed her 30,000 Nm from the US around the Pacific to Australia and then toThailand. Like all old Lady's she needs a bit of makeup and new head linings down below, but is a lovely spacious family cruising yacht that would also lend herself well to the charter industry.
These boat details are subject to contract.
Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered.

Update : The owner have now decided to fit new teak decks, headliners, finish the forward head , inspect /replace the standing rigging, repair the radar and ensure all systems working for the passage home in June if she has not sold.
More:
The original owner spotted her in the Marina in Phuket and sent the following:
I was a young skipper in my early 20's when I went into a partnership with a French businessman to launch a sailing yacht project. We took Gilbert Caroff as the architect and picked a traditional shipyard "Chantier Naval de Kerlevin" in Concarneau (French Brittany) to build her between 1978 and 1980. I followed the construction from A to Z working on most trades so I knew her by heart when she was launched in the water. She was a FRP custom design crafted through a male mood. The deck beams were laminated spruce/mahogany. The deck was a 20 mm marine ply from Luterma with a 20 mm teak deck.
I attach to this mail an old copy of her French registration, stamped 1980.
She was a schooner from her first rigging (without bowsprit) and was fitted with a stainless steel center board (1.80 to 3.20 m draft), stainless steel rudder and keel plate,120 hp ford diesel , an Onan generator , Barbarossa winches , compass, sextant , clock ,charts, VHF, SSB and auto pilot....basic but this was the standard then..
We went straight to the Mediteranee chartering with a Paris agent and cruising with my partner who would join when he could. Over 4 years we did the mediteranee/ carribean seasons, so she clocked 8 x Atlantic ocean passages during those years. Antibes was her dry docking transit. Then we sailed to Brazil, back to carribean, Venezuela, Colombia, Panama and went islands hopping through the Pacific as you did. We were in Perth in 1985 for the America's Cup, Cruised through the Indian Ocean for a couple of years and went back to OZ through the Tasman.
After almost 10 years of non stop sailing , I decided to base ourselves in Bali where we chartered the archipelago until 1995. This is when my partner passed away and because I could not buy his share, I was forced to sell her. By then , I was also building an 80 feet catamaran to do some day charter between Bali and some nearby island.
The buyer was enigmatic.. He bought Kreiz An Ael in cash and sailed immediately to Singapore to do some work.....no one ever heard of him again.
