The Volvo Penta engine is nearly new with only 100 hours of operation.

The engine installation includes extensive sound proofing with "Quash" sound absorbing mats allowing relatively comfortable cruising noise levels in the pilot house with the engine running.

The electrical system is based on a pair of very large "Life Line" AGM "mat" type batteries which provide sufficient power to operate the boat systems for up to two weeks between charging. A 3000 watt inverter system provides AC power.

This is a sturdily-built GRP sail boat. The overall length of the hull including the swim grid is 36 feet. The hull from stem to transom is 35 feet with 29 feet on the waterline. The design comes from England and is clearly intended for off shore sailing. It was constructed in BC. The hull is solid, thick GRP with no coring. Over the life of this boat there has never been an issue with blistering or other materials defects.

The deck and cabin are all GRP. The pilot house area, which includes the galley and dining area, was completely rebuilt in 2006 including improved framing under the pilot house floor and interior finishing. Essentially all major systems have been recently replaced or renewed.

The plumbing system includes a six gallon dual hot water heater, s/s galley sink, faucets, shower, second water tank, two GPM Silencer water pump and a s/s two gallon accumulator tank so there is no pump noise. Also provided is an exterior holding tank pump out.

The galley area is wired for a microwave which is not yet installed. The refrigerator is a new Novakool unit. A 3000 watt inverter provides AC power.

There are two heating systems: a D5L Espar diesel forced air furnace (16,000 BTU) with thermostat control and a "bus heater" with 12 v fan motor using hot water from the engine.

This is a pilot house sail boat which is a very practical design for the NW where one is likely to experience rainy days during a sailing trip, or if you plan to go out during the winter months. The pilot house has excellent 360 degree visibility from the helm station making sailing from inside a safe and practical alternative. The current owner frequently takes advantage of the relatively mild winter weather in this area to cruise the islands almost free from other boating traffic.

The pilot house is the "main saloon" of the boat though there is are two cabins below plus a head. The first cabin below the pilot house provides a large double berth to starboard and bench seating on the port. Forward from there is the head/shower closet to starboard. In the bow is a compartment with two "V" berths.

The general finish of the interior is relatively utilitarian rather like a high-end work boat. It appears very practical and easy to maintain, as one would prefer in a true off shore sailing boat. It is clear that this boat was designed by and for serious sailors.

Commentaires du Broker

This is a serious off shore sail boat that can also function as a pilot house motor cruiser. The hull has the lines of a performance sail boat with an efficient rig and fin keel with poured lead internal ballast. But the pilot house allows comfortable cruising under power or sail even in bad weather. This boat is an great alternative to purchasing a displacement "trawler yacht" in that it can offer the same kind of pilot house/main saloon style of protected, heated accommodations for the captain and crew (for considerably lower cost than most trawler yachts) but still allows high performance sailing or very economical power cruising at one gallon per hour.

The exterior is well equipped but durable with no external wood. The interior area is clean and bright with simple, easy to maintain materials and a functional lay out. This is a practical boat for someone who is serious about sailing and cruising in the Northwest.

This boat is currently in a local marina near the San Juan Islands and the slip is available with purchase of the boat.
