It is important to mention that a large number of Colvics have been built by amateurs, it is worthy of note that this particular example has been professionally built. The shipwright built her for a customer and then fell in love with her, owning the boat himself for 8 years. That is the reason for the superb fit out and consequently the inherent value to a motor sailing enthusiast.
Broker's Comments:
Colvic-built boats enjoy a splendid reputation for their design and solidity of hull construction. Many were offered as hulls and deck combinations at various stages of completion, to be fitted out by their owners. In consequence, the final quality varies enormously from vessel to vessel. This is the best one I have ever seen. I can put my hand on my heart and say that this vessel, a true Colvic-Watson, is absolutely stunning. From the substantial stem-head to the tips of the dinghy davits, everything about this vessel is top-quality, and she has been meticulously maintained. The hull gleams, the windows and hatches are clear and unmarked and the tan sails are crisp. It is the quality of the internal fit-out that is breath-taking, however. Solid varnished teak is everywhere; just about every shot of the accommodation shows lustrous timber throughout with a teak and holly cabin floor to complete the effect. It’s magnificent. You will struggle to find a better motor sailer like this anywhere, at any price.
