Engine:
Perkins 4108 totally rebuilt in 2003, ZF 2.74:1 However the current owner has used the boat as a livaboard. He has had the top of the engine skimmed but it still needs some work. Gearbox fitted August 2004, all controls in cockpit. 30mm dia.shaft and 450mm dia 3-bladed propeller, both new September 2001. 450 ltrs fuel capacity in 3 s/s tanks given approx. 1000Nm in flat seas and at cruising revs. Fuel consumption approx 2l/hr cruising speed. Remote stern tube greaser.
Electrics:
The ship is equipped with a 12v system consisting of engine starter battery (100Ahr) new April 2010. 2 Auxillary batteries, bank 1x230Ahr new October 2010, and 1x143Ahr deep cycle new May 2003. Charging is by means of a 55A Bosch alternator on the main engine, 1x30v Solarex solar panel or by charger from 240v circuit. The 240v circuit with outlets in forward cabin, saloon, galley, mid and aft cabins is supplied via:
1. Shore connection - lead supplied
2. Redi-Line 1.5kW approx converter
3. Save 2500 petrol generator in cockpit deck locker, giving 1.8kW continous.
The ship was rewired in 1991 and a Newmar switchboard fitted in the aft cabin nav area, with rear access from mid-cabin for repairs/additions. There are switched berth lights over every bunk, low-wattage night lighting, fluorescent lights in all cabins.
The boat has all new batteries, about 2 years old and also has a Garmin Chartplotter and fishfinder which are still in their boxes and have never been used.

The sails are all of terylene and consist of Ghoster, Working job, Number 2 jib, Main staysail and spare Main, Mizzen staysail and Mizzen.
The 3 headsails are fitted to Nemo roller reefing sytems operated from the centre cockpit. The main is hoisted and reefed from the main mast, where a winch is available to assist if necessary. When going foward from the cockpit there are permanently rigged stainless steel jack wires P and S, and also along the 3m bowsprit for safety harnesses. There are also 3 U-bolt anchorages in the cockpit.
The mizzen may be worked from the cockpit area , both main and mizzen are arranged with vangs from the end of the gaff led through a block on the end of the boom and then foward, to assist in control whilst lowering the sail. The mizzen has been lowered many times running downwind in Beaufort F8 without having to alter course. The vangs may also be used in light winds to stabilise the head of the sail.
The bowsprit has a wide planked walkway fitted and has the benefit of a s/s pulpit with polyester netting over it's whole length; which is a wonderful place to admire and take in the scenery.
At the stern is Aries windvane steering gear with a substantial steel structure protecting it and also carrying a boarding ladder, stub post for GPS and Navtex antennae, the Ensign staf and passarrelle. This allows the heel to be 3-4m clear of the quay when moored stern-to.

Commentaires du Broker

These boat details are subject to contract.
This Ketch is delightful inside. The current owner has lavished hours on the interior, incorporating insulation and making sure the boat has a traditional but very airey feel. The boat is easy to move around on deck and whilst there is some work to do this boat offers such lovely accommodation that I think she is worth the effort. The current owner has lived on her for some years. He has had a lot of work done on the engine but there is a bit to go. Have a look at the photos and see if you would be interested in viewing her.
